Hey, I read your message, and yes, my parents were good friends of the Shepherds before they moved north. Unfortunately, the only thing I know about Thomas is that he was adopted into the Arcana org despite not being a Warden. I'm not sure what his involvement was besides just being a family friend of my parents. I remember my father telling me they drifted apart after Thomas got married to Helen.

I understand your weariness and I know my word may mean nothing to you considering the circumstances, but I want to assure you anyway that I did not send you the card. I have yet to find more information on what they are or what they do, but I've tried getting rid of mine too, and the difficulty must be related to the nature of the object. Like they're bound to us in some way.

I know you might want to meet up to investigate further, I understand that this situation has upturned your daily life, but I strongly advise it's not the time. I'm being heavily monitored, so I must be vague so that I remain undiscovered in my current location. I may be able to disclose it to you in the future, by unconventional means, but you have to follow the breadcrumbs and come find me. I can't arrange a formal meetup purely for safety reasons. I'm sorry, but that's all I can say for the moment.
