Apologies for my absence, this past week seemed to be the only normal one I've had in a while. Good news too! I found my mothers full guide on the usage and purpose of Expulsion! I've been re-securing the home and so far I haven't seen a single insect in days. I'll post the contents and directions she left for you all probably in the next week or so. Today, someone else would like to share their story with us, and it's been a while since I've posted a submission, I actually have a few sitting in my inbox I've got yet to go through. Apologies for being slow going, just got so much stuff on my mind I forget I have an outlet right here. Anyways, from a Sophie Morgan who, like many, is currently on the run from the Tall Man:
"It has taken my sister. I am so tired. It took her right in front of me. I'm on the road, I've been accused of running but I'm doing more than that. I think it's trying to break my spirit, my mind, but I refuse to let it. I keep hearing this voice, seeing this images, it's trying to lead me away. You are an inspiration for fighting it, for staying alive.
Sometimes, if only for the briefest of moments I hear my sister, I hear a repeat of the cry she let out as its branch-like limbs encased her and within a split moment both it and her were gone. It tilted it's head, as if it was studying my horrified reaction to the unbelievable event that was taking place right before my eyes. I'm struggling to maintain my sanity, but I still try to persist. I have to persist. Thank you for reading this if you do."
I appreciate your words, and from the sound of it you're doing what you have to do. I've told myself I'm sitting here hiding sometimes, but its hard to move around freely when the beasts don't want you crossing their lines. And getting in touch with knowledgeable people who can actually help is next to impossible when most of them might be dead (ugh). I certainly do feel like a prisoner in this town sometimes. And gosh, branches huh?? This thing sure is versatile.
I've seen it take others right after the insects have their way with them, they leave him a corpse and he comes to pick it up. It's so strange, like some kind of fucked up janitor cleaning up their messes.
Keep your head up, don't let people accuse you of shit, and do what you have to do to stay alive.
